Meet the Team
Ed Heil
CEO / President
Twelve years in television news teaches a person a few things about producing content and powerful storytelling. Ed Heil used those elements to create the foundation in 2005, when storytelling was a nod to journalists and before it was a marketing buzzword. Today, Ed oversees initial client engagements and guides our teams. He is a proud graduate of Michigan State University where he earned a degree in Psychology.
Kathy Heil
Partner
Kathy Heil is one of the owners of StoryTeller Media & Communications and leads the sales and marketing team. She specializes in helping small and medium businesses, and private clubs, leverage their online marketing presence to grow and track revenue. Originally from Detroit, Kathy is a Michigan State University graduate and has three children. Kathy enjoys golfing, biking, traveling, and is always up for joining you with a glass of wine.
StoryTeller is an inbound marketing agency and video production company based in Minneapolis. Kathy has spent her career in sales specializing in both print and digital communications. Kathy blogs about inbound marketing, business development, and client relations.
Amanda Weldon
Account Director
Amanda has a passion for collaborating with internal teams to help uncover key messaging and develop strategies that align with their overall business goals. With nearly a decade in the marketing industry on both the agency and in-house side, she specializes in managing multiple priorities simultaneously, turning ideas into actionable items.
A native of Minnesota, Amanda enjoys the live music scene in Minneapolis, exploring new hiking trails, visiting local breweries, and in true midwest-fashion, ranch dressing.

Ashley has a background in marketing and communications with experience in inbound marketing and client services. Along the way, she found that really she just had a passion for making connections and helping others, this includes both her team and her clients. Outside of work, Ashley enjoys hiking, yoga, breweries, plants, and really anything that involves her dog, Bailey.
Hope Waytas
Content Specialist
Meet Hope Waytas, our dynamic Content Specialist. Hope thrives on crafting targeted content strategies and assists in every stage of the content lifecycle, from brainstorming and interviewing to publication. She ensures top-notch quality and punctual delivery, even when overseeing freelance contributors. With a sharp eye for detail and a flair for creativity, Hope drives content initiatives across various industries.
Her degree in Marketing and Business Management from Luther College, along with her expertise in inbound marketing and client services, showcases her passion for making connections and helping others. When she's not weaving words, you can find Hope horseback riding, practicing yoga, nurturing her plants, or spending time with her beloved animal menagerie, including her dog, two cats, horse, and her husband.
Kevin Page
Managing Director
Kevin has been working for HubSpot Partner Agencies since 2013 and picked up a lot of knowledge along the way. He’s been able to build muscles across various services including inbound marketing (content, email, etc.), web design/development, video production, revenue operations (RevOps), data migrations/integrations, solution engineering, and HubSpot consulting, training, and implementation. He’s got an operational mind and loves to explore business challenges, ask a lot of questions, connect the dots and present a solution.
Kevin lives in Shoreview, MN with his wife Amalia and their son, Howie. He loves to golf and strives to get as much “dad time” as possible while his kid still likes having him around.
Lisa Schmidtke

With over 20 years of experience as a Digital Marketing Professional and Website Designer, Lisa has a strong track record for creating an online presence for hundreds of clients and driving targeted traffic. Armed with up-to-date knowledge of search engine advertising tactics, her clients realize strategic results at a positive ROI. Lisa is an expert in building a social media strategy that attracts each client’s ideal audience, then rolling out & managing all aspects of each social media outlet. Her super-power combining technical expertise with an eye for design makes her a trusted consultant of website development & online marketing best practices.
Lisa lives in Eden Prairie with her husband and 2 girls and is spending her “dogless” phase golfing, gardening & traveling.

As the Web Designer and Developer for StoryTeller, Melissa brings over 30 years of graphic/web design and communication expertise garnered from her work in both the corporate world as well as in the non-profit realm and marshals this experience to help our clients tell their story. Melissa’s attention to detail, strong background in content management systems, and ability to creatively bring all the essentials of your story together will garner success for you, whether you are just creating your website, or looking to take your online presence to a new level of distinction.
Melissa and her husband Patrick have three grown children (one grandchild), share a love of travel, and the adventures of DIYing their home into the perfect empty nest.

Nikki is a natural writer and creative thinker with an extensive background in print media, B2B marketing, journalism, and public relations. As an Associate Account Manager, Nikki is excited to help organizations build and leverage campaigns to reach their marketing goals through a content-focused lens. Ultimately, Nikki is passionate about bringing creativity to traditionally technical or rigid industries and breathing life into every brand through a powerful, curated voice.
Nikki calls Eau Claire, Wisconsin home, where she lives with her fiancé and two kittens. Outside of work, Nikki loves dancing salsa, bachata, and Brazilian zouk. She also enjoys festivals, live music, pretty cocktails, and the occasional hi-jinks.
